To good to be true? What am i getting into?

Saw an ad for a car on craigslist, if the link doesnt work let me know.

http://pensacola.craigslist.org/cto/1894065529.html

Pretty sweet? If the engine repair fails i have a motor with 78k. Should I not bother with the repair and just do an engine swap?

Auto... that car already failed from the start, unless you're doing a 5spd swap I wouldn't bother unless you need parts.

Lol, the hoist is out in the middle of a field it looks like. Did he push it into the grass to take a pic or has it been sitting outside the whole time. Looks like the hydraulic ram is rusted!

Might be a long shot to get the car running from what he explains the problem was. I dunno what your experience level is. What would be your plan of action to get the car running? ARe you going to swap out the crankshaft and bearings there? If so, good luck, anyone doing that would need it.

"If you need the title, I do have a clear one... somewhere "

Frankly I dealt with someone who told me after I paid for the car he couldn't find the title, waited a couple weeks (I took the car back with me anyways). I took the car back and told him to give me the money back. After he threatened me with suing me I reversed it on him and made him cry and he gave my money back. Avoid those situations.

If the body is in as good of shape as it looks then it would be worth it if you just wanted the body but the auto transmission with the 4afe's were pretty sluggish and slow. On top of all that, aren't engine hoists only $150 without a rusted hydraulic ram?

Yeah, I paid $260 for mine running and a manual transmission. I would pass just based on the auto tranny.
