ae92 3sgte or 4agte >?

hey guys am new on toyota nation . i have my car for nearly 3 years now i have a ae92 Levin Gtz 4agze . the supercharge is getting kinda off boring now and my belt started to slip . so i decide to look at a turbo for my car .i been doing my research for at leat 6 monts if not more .. i manage to find a shop that will built me a custom made turbo to hit full boost 3500 - 4000rpm and go pick up 275whp ( it think it enough power to a ae92). but it been catching my attention the 3sgte . what you think i still wit the legendary 4ag or go wild 3sgte ?

3rd gen 3S-GTE put out about 260hp at the cranck stock, so you would have plenty in the power department. And if you get bored again (Can't imagine it though) There are a lot of aftermarket parts for the 3S-GTE. I've seen those engines go up to 800bhp!

It sounds like you are ready to throw some serious money into these modifications if you were already planning a custom turbo setup with that much power.
So I'm not even going to bother you with the costs.

BUT...do realize that the 3S-GTE will take some more heavy modifications than what you've got planned now. It is not a straight bolt in job.
Think custom engine mounts, extensive wiring mods. You will have to find just the right parts to mate the engine/gearbox to the Corolla hubs etc, etc, etc...

But do keep in mind that the 3S-GTE is a fair bit heavier than the 4A-GZE, so the balance of the car will be completely different. So the mods to the car might not stop at the engine and gearbox alone. The suspension set-up and brakes might have to be upgraded aswell.

Stick with the 4A, unless you would like to join the 7A club as I plan to be doing very soon. I'm biased though, I LOVE revs.

Dump the SC and go Turbo... you already have a GZE in the car, that's a good step right there.

I've seen turboed 4AGZEs pushing 300-500hp.

Talk to 4doorgts, he built a 4AGZE turbo that kicked my ass the other day he gave me a ride, lol.

Here's a GTS with a turbo GZE swap I've been pondering about buying.

I hear tell that just swapping in a bigger crank pulley on the GZE will boost it's performance quite a bit, and if you add cams it might get you up to the 200hp range. Don't hold me to these figures, but have you looked into going that route?
