Ideas?

So I'm getting serious about finally doing my project car, I've ditched my 7agte plan, sounds like too much f-ing around, 4agte it is...

What body style do I wanna build up?

Sedan

Hatch

Or a coil sprung wagon?

All are gonna cost me about the same. Just want some ideas and any pics of the above would be awesome.

i think an ae92 sedan would be so unsuspecting around New Zealand but that's just my view on it.

What the hell lol, never seen that before, I'm liking the 5 stud-ness of it... Not a 3s fan though... But damn that's cool. I'm thinking sedan too.

I don't understand how people can talk about powerful Toyota four bangers and say "I'm not a 3S fan". Doesn't make sense to me.

+1

That's what I would do.

All the major work has already been done and the seller is taking a large hit. Duplicating that kind of power will cost more than what the entire car is selling for.

Me neither.

Maybe it's too much car to handle?

"Not a 3S fan" is just my own opinion, engines themselves are great, too bad they come in ugly Celica's, Caldina's etc.
I've ALWAYS wanted to do a quick 4A... And I love Rolla's. 3S + Rolla = Fuckin' expensive. And it's just not my style. Only way I'd EVER own a 3S is in an Altezza, they're ugly too, but RWD makes up for that factor.
Shit, if I had it my way, I'd be rockin' a 1UZ Rolla and have a golden toilet, but that's just not gonna happen.

Your words hurt my MR2's soul.

If you're dead set against the engine that powered the best version of the last sports car Toyota has produced... but I digress. Go with a 4AGE, smallish turbo, and hatch unless you need to haul many people around.

Ouch sorrry lol. I'm thinking T28 (or similar), still unsure of body type, I don't want or need big power, just something that will kick me in the pants when the urge arises, hence, rolla, 4A, easy, proven, cheap-ish, and pretty well plug n play (I have auto-sparky mates to do the hard stuff lol)

Anyways, off this debate about 3S vs 4A.

Both very very very good motors, just not my thing.

C'mon guys, send me in a direction so I can have a sweet build thread lol.

I'd like to see a 2ZZ-GE swap... it's like the 4A-GE but bigger, more powerful, has VVT-Li (VTEC) and lighter (aluminum block )

I've had a read into the specs of a ZZ, they are fast becoming my favourite power house... Too bad I don't that sorta money =( Love to see a turbo ZZ in a 90 series. Drooooool.

Shit man, you'd better come see me, you got it sussed lol.

I'm on a budget, my mate has spares lying around, I've got a 7 rib block (with oil squirters) what head to use though? I've got GZE pistons, rods, crank etc... Currently looking for a turbo. I can do exhaust manifold myself, and I'll probably make an intake plenum too. Now all I gotta do is find a tidy SEDAN rip the poor thing apart and go for it.

Cheers NZAE92 I'll be getting some ideas off you brother lol.

Yep, we had them for only two years 2005 and 2006.

The downside to the North American Corolla was that it had a torsion beam rear suspension.

Did you guys ever get the Corolla T-Sport TTE Compressor?

It had a supercharged version of the 2ZZ-GE engine. Very cool car.
