Valve seals

I have a 1990 4afe 4 door 4 speed automatic in mint condition with 100,000 miles. It sat in a garage for 4 years without ever being started up. I have put 10,000 miles on it and the car works great. It smokes a little at startup and I have a feeling it is the valve seals. So how hard is it to replace the valve seals or should I just forget about it.

Oh, and what do you think the price range is on this car. There is zero rust and the paint looks brand new. 30 mpg.

well you can do the valve seals with head on the motor still its kinda a pain in the ass. or you can take the head off to do it a little easier.

you have to remove the valve covers, camshafts. then you have to remove the spring retainer and then the spring then remove the seal and install a new one.

if you do it with the motor on make sure you dont drop a valve into the cylinder
