UPDATE Failed smog!

Ok I dont if you guys have been following my posts but I finally got all my CEL codes resolved!ALL OF THEM! they have been off and have not come back

Now the bad news is I didnt pass smog not even close the only part that passed was NOX.. The HC levels were high.

I have no idea what the heck im gonna do now but I just wanted to say thank you to anyone that helped me I learned so much about the 4AF motor (cali model) in a short time.

There is some kind of CAP program here in Cali that will pay to get it fixed to pass so I am going to look into it.

UPDATE!
Ok I finally got approved for the CAP program last week its a state program that will pay all costs for smog related repairs. Kinda let down when I found out what it was after I spent more than a few afternoon's in the junkyard looking for parts. Looking back I would do it again I did learn alot about this motor here on this site. Any way it was the CAT the bill to the state was 389.99 for a CAT with a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty, seems a shame all the work I did fighting all the check engine lights with all the help from you guys here but its passed now! I did toss the idea around to try and find a CAT and see if it worked but the cost of a re-test along with the cost of the CAT I just said F it and waited for the CAP program.
Thanks to everyone here and Happy New Year!

Maybe you need a new oxygen sensor and or catalytic converter. Did you do a fresh oil change replace air filter and have it fully warmed up (a good run on highway) and keep it running till test completed? Here is a link that describes some of the causes for the high HC levels.

Glad you got it fixed. Good thing they have a program like that to help out with the costs.

so you could have just went to a shaddy looking smog guy and pay him to pass it for you, $90 is way cheaper than a $400 cat..

P.S. my cat eats a lot, the vet is making him take a diet... XD
