AE92 Project log- 89 sr5 4af engine project :D

Well its that time for me. I have finally figured out where im going to go with my project. I have an 89 corolla sr5 that I am currently working with. It has a 4af engine in it but Im going to work with what I got Anyway Currently I have ordered EBC Vented Rotors, EBC green stuff brake pads, KYB GR2 shocks with Ebachi Lowering springs. I also have a Pacesetter header coming my way within a week or so. From there it will be complete exhaust with a Injen muffler. Once I get these parts in place Im planning on buying a Weber 32/36 and a K&N Plenum so I could run a cold air intake without modifying my hood. Of couse I am going to get a complete gasket set as well. Then maybe get a Whiteline sway bar. Between this time I hope to have time to work on the body... mostly get the oxidized paint taken car of. I fixed the leak in my trunk this weekend and resealed everything in the back. My question at this point is are there anything else that I could do that would be worth the Money? Im going to try and up date this as much as possible with the project.

not trying to be negative or anything but a black or silver top 20 valve would be worth the money but, like you i also am not going that route.

I'm also doing a project with the 4af,
I'm bidding on a 32/36 dgav weber from a ford pinto 2L engine which should bolt up quite nicely and also getting a cam grind which you should also keep in mind if you are wanting power.

if you want info on what i have done to my 4AF just send me a pm i'm more than happy to tell you
Greg

What kind of exhaust is that? So to do that I would need a Intake manifold for an 4afe and then the ecu plus the other fuel injected components and they will bolt right up?

Self made exhaust. well I'm running KMS (van kronenburg) injector controller with bosch 390cc injectors, Map sensor from VW/Audi, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Volvo 240/740/V70 fuel filter, Amworks fuel pressure reg (1:1 rate).

Will they bolt up, well the intake manifold will, you'll have to have injector bungs machined into the head (theres spaces in the head for it, on the 4A-F they havent been machined).

All in all if you want to modify a 4A-F, you're going to run out of "bolt-on" parts quite fast. You really gotta think out of the box.
