Most of you all know about my FX-16 /4A-GZE with LSD swap in progress.
I have run into a snag and need some help.
I am hoping that someone else has done a LSD swap and can give me some advice, even though the FX might not be identical to the AE92, everything is pretty close between these models.
The following I copied from my thread in the "Older Corolla Forum"
[The rear gearbox mount will not fit.
Neither the one that was on the original gearbox, nor the one that came with the limitid slip gearbox. The LSD box is just so much bigger back there, that there is no space.
The front mount from the original gearbox works with this gearbox, so I now have the engine/gearbox 3-pointed.
I am wondering if this will be sufficient, considering I am looking at about 165 hp and over 150 lb/ft torque from this engine. If not, I'll probably have to install a solid mount at the back, (not liking this idea) or pull this gearbox and get a non-limited slip unit to put in.
I have 2 4A-GE gearboxes in my storage building. The one from my GT-S and the one that I just pulled from the FX. I am not so sure that these will stand up to the extra hp and tq.
For a DD maybe, but I really doubt for autocross and maybe track use.]
Any suggestions or advice, please post on the other forum. Link below.
