Need Keys

Hi new here,
Just purchases a 90 corolla with 66k orgin miles on the clock. The engine in fantansic condition body has a little rust but will take care of it in the spring. But I have just one problem, it only came with one key which is badly worn and bet and cannot get another cut from it. Took it to the dealership and gave them the vin and they cut one which did not fit (dealership did not charge me anything for the key). So what I need to know is there anywhere on the car besides the vin that can get me the code for cutting the keys.

Thanks

The lock might have been changed at some point in the cars life, they should be able to make the key with the VIN, but since it didnt fit, its most likely its changed. Time to get a new lock barrel and door locks.

You could also pull out the trunk lock, and take it to a locksmith, and have him make you a set of keys.
That won't be cheap, but will probably be cheaper than a new lock set.

You can find a lock set on ebay... The ign cylinder, all doors and trunk... $100

For example,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ignit...Q5fAccessories

You can find cheaper.
