1991 Corolla All-Trac Wagon - few questions

Hey all, I picked up a 1991 Corolla All-Trac wagon, ~227k on the odometer. It's beat up, rusty, and loud (there's a large hole somewhere, but it's too damn cold for me to want to crawl underneath to find it). Cracked windshield and the loud exhaust is pretty much the only things wrong with it. Clutch is good and the tires are in good shape, and the diff locks (and works). Only problem with the AWD is it pulls like a bitch to the right when the diff is locked. (Little early clarification on the appearance - my friend had plans to turn it into an ice racer, then I needed a car so he did me a solid and sold it to me). Total price including a new battery from walmart = $375. Will need a little help in the lighting department, the high beams don't quite cut it in the snowy conditions we get here. I'll probably just pick up some cheap off-road lights from walmart or something.

So now for the questions:
1)Bolt pattern - what is it? From what I can figure out it's a 4x100, but I've seen some of the guys here rolling on 5 lug wheels. Just haven't had time to pop the hubcaps off and figure out what's going on underneath (plus I kind of like the black/gold look and dont' wanna break the hubcaps XD)
2)Best source for parts? Recommended plugs? Seems a little rough, just wanna do some basic stuff (filter, plugs, maybe the plug wires). Also, the shifter's a little sloppy, might be looking at rebuilding the linkages, any recommended kits?
3)Engine - which one do I have, and what options do I have with it? Far as I can tell it's the 4A-FE, but there appears to be different versions? Anything I can do to narrow it down? Might also be a good time to point out good (read CHEAP) mods to start with. Will ebay special stuff (intake, etc) do more harm than good here? Just looking to maybe gain a MPG or two, or gain a little more power (who doesn't want to do that?).
4)Speakers - what sizes are the speakers? I've had one site tell me they were 4" all the way around, and another say that size won't fit.

1- Bolt pattern is 4x100.
2- Any autoparts store in town or online warehouse is fine, as long as you arent looking for exterior body parts or panels. You might have a limited selection for the linkages.
3- Its most likely the 4afe. There is either the fuel injected 4afe or the carbureted 4af for these, they are easy to tell apart.
4- 4" speakers up front and if the DX has them in the rear they are also 4"
