MD Emissions Passed :)

Ok, so today I took my car in for the stupid emissions testing... Like I'm gonna be alive when pollution kills this world. Anyways, it unbelievably passed... I thought it would've failed.

I installed new pipes from downpipe to back including a new cat. However, no muffler; The rear pipe goes from 1.75" to 2.5", so it's loud, racecarish.... But the worse of things, one stud on the exhaust manifold broke, so only one nut is holding the downpipe to the manifold. It leaks a bit. You can only hear it during full acceleration at RPMs higher than 4k.

BTW, backfires are lovely! My car has been running slightly rich...

The guys at the station didn't know since my exhaust noise overpowered the leak sound.

Here's the results:

34ppm HC (State Standard 220ppm)
0.00 CO% (State Standard 1.20%)

I'm not sure is the leak is to blame for the super low results, or maybe the new cat.... but it passed! All I'm worried about.

I may still get historic tags.... or not.

Thought I share, comments welcomed.

ah... emissions, it's been a while since I've had to deal with that

Historic tags are nice, I highly recommend them.

I have them on the 7, corolla, and the bike lol. The subaru is OBD-2 so there are other ways around emissions if I really wanted to, but it's SCCA rallycross stock class, so it's staying legal.
