4agze speed sensor issues

here's my issue...i have a 1996 toyota corolla with an ae92 map dli 4agze swap... the problem is is that the speed sensor is mechanical and my ae102 speedometer uses an electronic sending unit...i was having issues with the tach also but tweak and i solved that problem with the use of a Dakota Digitizer... So my question is... is there any electronic speed sensor that would drop right in to my mechanical ae92 transmission? And if so what car can i get it out of? Thanks TN.

probably, the AE101 Silvertop 20V 4AGE C56 trans I got had an electronic sender in the same place as the AE92's cable. you can probably use that one. I'm not sure if it'll wire right in though.

I'm not sure if your trans (probably an E series) uses the same sender as the C series though.

the late ae101 4agze's have electronic units in them....

I would be surprised if an E series electronic unit from a turbo 2nd gen MR2 is different.....

the E series that I had/have (E58 and E51)... the sending units in the transmission itself is 2 pieces.... and the difference between each is only 1 of the pieces (the outer portion).... the inner was the same. The two halves are linked together by a stupid pin that shears it's teeth off (which is an easy replacement, but common)... this is how I know.

@bitter the tranny i have is what i believe is an e58 its from an ae92 4agze dli map sensor well im actually sure, its just that the the ae92 4agze came with a mechanical sender and the ae101 uses an electronic one.
@toyotaspeed sourcing a sender for the ae101 would be pretty ruff...and as far as the mr2 turbo...gotta pic? would be interested in seeing one everything on ebay looks like generic pics...thanks man just dont want to be wrong

not in the AE92 section, we're all cool not like those 7th gen guys haha

I googled it and found some info:
http://www.mr2turbo.info/pics/speedsensor.html

the MR2 turbo has an E-series, so it should be the same. just like I was able to swap the cable gear from my C52 into my C56.

hmm.... unfortunately that isn't the same...

the E51/E58 uses a gear that goes in to the transmission parallel to the ground and has a elbow that turns it back up...

that isn't to say one from a 3sgte wouldn't work.... it's possible that the electronic units are 1 piece....

you would need to check in the MR2 forum and see if someone by chance has one they can pull out of the trans and measure....
