Amp wont turn on

okay so i have everything wired up, have the power wire from battery to fuse than to the capacitor, have another from positive to the amp, have a negative to a ground from capacitor and negative form amp to the same ground location. i have the rca to the imput and to the deck and the REM wire from amp to the blue wire to my deck harness blue wire that had a tag on it saying REM.

The speakers are in a box and they are wired properly. I'm getting nothing, no sound im guessing the amp isnt turning on? theres a small green LED from the capacitor but no voltage reading on it. so im assuming that the wire isnt right from the capacitor to the amp. could it be the ground wires? i have no idea where to ground it to because my entire trunk is painted in red. is there a ground wire where the rear speakers go to that i can use? I'm afraid of drilling because its the side the fuel fill up is on. dont want to hit the tank or fuel lines.

1 thing you should know, both devices need there own septate ground so use both seat belts or where your lights are there is a copper bolt to hold your lights on.(which ever looks better)

did you wire the remote turn on wire form the radio?? make sure its the the one for the radio harness not the adapter clip

It usually is a ground problem in this case. Make sure the wire for the ground is the same size as your power wires. And also make sure the cables aren't too long to the ground, under 3 feet long is best. Shorter the better.

Now the best place to ground in this car I found, is using the bolts to the back seats, the lower bolts that bolt right into the car chassis. Sand down some of the paint to bare metal right where the ground wires are bolting on to get best connection. And it actually doesn't matter if you ground both of them to each other, it all goes to the same place any way. Just make sure it's a good tight clean connection. You'll be fine. :p

One way to test your remote wire is using a test light or a multimeter. With everything hooked up properly, turn on your CD Player, and see if there's is power going to your REM connection on the amplifier. Even if it's a small amount, that's all it needs to trigger the amp to turn on. And typically most amps have at least a small LED that comes on when the amp is powered and on.

Hope that helps. Been doing this stuff for years. :p

you can ground it to any bolt as long as it's touching the body... I can't remember exactly but I think I used one of the bolts for the seatbelts on the GTS, behind the seat backs and it worked fine.
