91 GT-S eratic idle and jerky driving need help - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

well today i decided to start up the old gt-s just to warm upp abit from wintere hibernation and the idle was going all over the place any where from 1000 to 3000 rpms and earlier on in the summer when i took it around the block in first gear it was jerking like crazy and continued in other gears. im hoping its not the tranny but iv got no other ideas. Can any provide any thoughts?

Could simply be from sitting for a while especially if it ran fine before.

definitely not the tranny... vacuum leak maybe, does the idle go up and down, up and down?

sounds like to me is that the car is mad at your for letting it sit there while you gave the other cars attention... its just lonely and its letting you think its the trans, but it just needs love... turn her on, take her out somewhere nice, and just violate her, then she'll feel loved again, and drive great. oh yeah it doenst sound like transmission to me. prolly just a cold start?
