Press the cruise control button so the green light is lit. On the right arm of the steering column, I think you turn it up to ACCEL/ RESUME and down to SET/ COAST.

When you're at the speed you want to cruise, twist down to SET/ COAST and it will maintain that speed. If you hit the brakes or twist down (SET/ COAST), it'll switch the cruise off. All you have to do is twist up (ACCEL/ RESUME) and it will accelerate to the last set speed.

Sorry, I meant how does someone install a cruise control. I am tired of speeding tickets don't want to lose a CDL. THere is a company that sells a universal cruise control but I'm not sure if it would work.

I've read on other forums that there are actually kits for cars that can be purchased at a dealership containing all the parts needed to install cruise control. They were talking about a later model however so who knows if such kits are still available for a 6th gen....

Punching in for a 1988 Toyota Corolla, it says it will not work. I saw a topic here with someone mentioning that they added aftermarket CC to their 6th gen sedan...

Cruise control swap ?

Anyone who has done this with an "all in one" kit care to share the part number, place of purchase, etc?

Looking over the diagrams for replacement parts for my wagon, I don't think I'd like to go through with installing that setup (cable on the gas pedal instead of the TB??). Besides trying to source all the parts from a 6th gen, buying new from Toyota is out of the question -- it would cost more than I paid for my wagon!
