89 corolla sr5 exhaust help

I bought a Pacesetter exhaust 4-2-1 for the 4af engine. I was wondering what size piping i should get for the exhaust system. Im looking at a 2 3/8 inlet for a Injen muffler. Is that going to be to big or small?

I would go with 2" personally... it's not a very big engine.

yeah i once had pacesetter headers on my 4afe(old rolla) and i complimenter it with a 2.25 piping from catback to apex n1 muffler(sounded just like a subaru impreza) youll love the boxter sound, especially if you have a nice intake system on it.

the "boxer" sound comes from having an un-equal length header... which is a bad thing. I've heard of people getting 30hp on the dyno from just replacing the header on a subaru with an equal length one.

porches have boxers too... and they don't sound like subarus.

oic... kool nice to know, i never knew that, wells i never owned a subie so meeh, but yeah itll have a rumble to it... wells just trying to let the guy know what itll sound like since i have done it in the past, oh yeah that header kinda sucked too, after 2 months it broke on me so becareful for the pacesetter idk if i got a faulty one or not, but regular commute to work and back on freeway 22miles a day and after 2 months the pipes broke off the flanges.
