Hi beams and Horn problems

Just bought a 92 Corolla DX. Good shape but some minor issues. First, the high beams work when you pull the lever forward (the temporary flash), but don't when you push it backward (leave 'em on). Any ideas? Second, the horn doesn't work, but no obvious connection issues or fuse problems. NAPA parts guy said steering wheel contacts are the likely problem. Again, thoughts? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums! In regards to the high beams not working, I experienced the exact same problem with my 7th Gen a few weeks ago. I swapped the combination switch with a new one and everything worked perfectly again. Your horn problem may also be directly related.

Thanks! Pardon my ignorance, but what is the combination switch?

The combination switch is the 'proper' term for the indicator/headlight/wiper stalks
