Modifying a 20V oil sensor for SX

Hi, I have an Australian, October built 1989 SX Corolla Hatchback, fitted with a 20V Silvertop by the previous owner. He did not persue doing anything with the oil pressure instrumentation.

I am led to believe that the 20V oil sensor runs to a dashboard light, whereas the '89 SX has a pressure gauge mounted in the dash board. Therefore I will need to fit the 20V with the original engine's type of oil sensor. Is this correct? The original engine was a twincam 4A1621xxx

If so, I have two questions - firstly, is the size of the oil sensors thread size/pattern the same (interchangeable) or do I need to do something before installing. Secondly, how do I go about removing the oil sensor from the 20V that is currently in the car.

Thanks in advance, Alf

yup, 20V is switch type (like the 4AFE). It's down underneath the powersteering pump, it's just a bolt that you unscrew to get it out. the one from you old engine looks like a mushroom, you just screw it right in in it's place. the threads are the same. the connector should even hook right up.
