Cool Odometer rollover on 1990 Corolla?

Hello all. I have a question. A friend of mine wants to buy this 1990 Corolla claiming to have only 30K miles on it. That sounds incorrect. Does anyone know if the odometer in those models rolls over at 1000000 miles? I got a feeling somethings fishy here. Any info on this would be helpful. Thanks all.

I would think it would be easy to determine whether the car had 1 million miles or 30,000. Plenty of indicators...

Correction::::: not a million miles, one hundred thousand miles. OK so I was off 1 zero. Does anyone know if the odometer roles over after 100000?

You could run a VIN number and check title history to see if odometer is correct. Might want to check via your state DVM to see if can do at no charge like here in Ohio. If not here is a link to Carfax where you pay for the service.

Older odometers that only had enough digits to show up to 99,999 miles did roll over to 00,000 when they hit 100,000. Odometers with one more digit were added and they can display up to 999,999 miles. before rolling over to 000,000.

I'm pretty sure all 6th gen Corollas have six digit odometers. So it would have to roll over past 1 million miles to reset to 0. Unless someone was really bored with an electric drill and spare time on their hands.
