differential side bearings

I have an 92 corolla with 150,000k on an auto tranny with excessive play in the differential where it goes into the transmission. Does anybody know if the differential is supported by bushings or bearings? Is this a normal problem? Would the wear be on the carrier, bearings, or housing. Its starting to leak past the seal due to excessive play and have replaced seal recently but now is starting to leak again. Any help would be appreciated.

That's what I'd like to know. That would be a very uncommon problem to have provided the differential was always full of ATF.
