install tachometer in AE92 sedan

Hello ive been wondering on how to install a tachometer on the AE92 sedan as i would like to keep one to use to better control of how hard i make my 4a-fe work...luckily ive never had to disassemble the engine just yet not even for the head gasket but i fear sometime ill have pull off the head for the first time since the car was manufactured to do the job...i would like to baby the engine to further prolong the life of my engine and the head gasket by keeping engine stress levels (rpm's) at a minimum...Thanks in advance!

Corolla LEs during this generation corolla had tachs. The easiest way to get one is just replace the cluster with one from a Corolla LE.

A note to the above post, check that the LE cluster has the check engine light. If it came out of a 4AF Corolla, it won't have that light. I suppose it's not a big deal, but I've got an LE cluster without the check engine light, and want to correct that soon.

Also, if you have an automatic with the overdrive on/off switch, you might want the get a cluster from an LE auto with that light.

Easiest way to tell is by looking at the back of the cluster...

And in this pic..

The overdrive light's bulb is being pointed at with the left arrow.
