AE92 ae92 GTZ levin hood on sedan

I have been searching for an AE92 GTZ hood to put on my sedan as i am putting a weber onto my car this weekend and need all the air i can get.

Will the hoods interchange at all or will i be wasting my money?

you know, that is a good question, someone answer this, because i am unsure myself and have been thinking about this as well.. also that is great that your installing a weber system on ur corolla, i hear thats the way to go to make a bigger difference, have you thought about using motorcycle carbs as well? that way your corolla would be like a 4af carb with ITBs =D thatll be awesome to look at as well. but yeah kudos on your car man, id love to see pics of it when ur done.

I doubt it. I think I saw a pic of a sedan with the Levin GTZ hood. The corners at the windshield sat higher than the fender. But the front nose of the hood came down level with the front tip of the fenders. So I think the GTZ has a greater % of steepness versus the original hoods of a sedan.

Now, you can unbolt the hood scoop off the GTZ hood and install it on the original hood for the sedan. All you have to do is measure, measure, MEASURE the opening on the Levin GTZ hood so you can get a near-perfect placement on the original sedan hood for both the opening and scoop install.

I have the GTZ hood scoop by itself along with it's rubbers, not yet installed.

AE92

Ok, thats cool
Looks like i will be looking for the scoop then.

@Ayang: Thanks man i appreciate it, i have also looked into motorcycle carbs but thought that it would be too much work, fiddling with the jetting and setting up all the cables and lines etc, so i just sorta put that idea in the bin, I found a weber on trademe, the equivalent to ebay usa for New Zealand, and bought it. it's a 32/36 dgav with genuine weber electric choke installed as they came standard with water chokes, also on the agenda is fitting a lightened flywheel from a 5afe onto my 4af.

Can anybody give me other ideas for better air flow or should i be alright with it just being as is, cause i don't want to be hacking into my hood or having overheating problems.

Appreciate any other help

Greg! I saw this on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=358088468 it would be perfect for CAI on your webber. But the price is steep.

I'm sure if you scouted around a bit more you can find something similar. But if all else fails you could just retro fit something to it.

There is a thread somewhere in this forum that showed a k&n filter to be attached to the standard carb.

Hood will not bolt-on, if you were into bodywork the whole gtz front end could be made to fit and does look good when done properly.

4doorgts nice, that answered some of my questions, and the motorcycle carbs are a pain to do, but in the end its soo awesome. but yeah the weber system is still kool too, one of my buddy had one on his 85 sr5 hatch, and i ran the yamaha r1 on my 4age redtop, it was a pain in the arsh to do it, but it was pretty kool and unique. atm im on a EFI now and im thinking about turbo now more than a motor swap.

Thanks ralph for that link, but it's way too pricey.
My weber does have a ramflo airfilter on it, i just need better flow.

Bugger bout the bonnet .

Ayang: how did you get those motorbike carbs to work it would've been a right pain in the ass to do all the tuning ?
