Wheels

Hi, I am getting a 1988 corolla sr5 awd wagon in a few days. I find the wheels small. Can I fit 14 or 15 inch wheels on this car? Thank you. mario

you can fit them, just make sure its the rite offset, i hear from the local tire shop that the corollas can run up to +40 offset, but its ideal for +35 and +38... atm on my car im running some del sol rims, that are 14x6 4x100 with some 185/60r14 yokohamas and the rims are a +45 offset, so i had to run rear wheel spacers for them, but i believe that AWD corolla had a different setup, so you might be able to run the offset im not too sure on this though.

15 x 6.5 or 15 x 7. 4x100.

195/50/15 or 205/55/15 tires. Some tire brands have thicker treads so it MAY be an issue. Washers that can go over the studs can fix that just as good as a very thing spacer. 15" wheels with these two spec of tires will keep the original outer circumference of a factory 13" with 175/70/13.

35+ to 45+ offset max can be ran.

This is for a perfect, flush look.

Of course, some like it deep dished and cambered. Or small. Best way to fit is test fit if you don't want the flush perfection.

Thanks for the info. I found some early 90's corolla 14 " 4 x 100, 14 x 5.5 , but the offset is +45. I read on one of the forum that the FWD ran a higher offset than a RWD vehicle ( +45 compared to +20 ). I asked a mechanic and he said that in the case of my AWD, I should treat it as a FWD and go with the higher offset ( +45 in this case ). Does that make any sense? Thanks for the info. mario
