i was trying to remeber if there was a oil nipple on the oil pan for the 4age for the oil cooler, i was going to install a GTS oil cooler on my ae92 sedan, but then i kinda remeber that there wasnt was there? the sandwhich plate just ran into the oil cooler and back rite? but when i was looking at the sandwhich plate i only see one oil nipple that goes out and not another one to come back? LoL! its one of those things that i didnt pay much attention to, but i want to install one, i found a old one in a parts box in the garage thats all... if there is a write up on how to install it id love to read it. thanks.

The GT-S uses a return pipe to the oil pan.
The 7A-FE oil pan has the bung also in the same location, but no hose fitting, just a plug.

I have an extra GT-S oil pan if anybody wants one.

Most likely because some countries (like Australia) got an oil-cooler standard from factory on the 7AFEs

not all 7afe pans have that bung (mine does not.... was a 1993 motor)

not all 4age oil pans use the cooler, either.... All in the US, did. In Japan, they did not (same as the 4afe pan).

the cooler adapters in the ae92, ae86, and aw11 aren't the same.... I have several of each and they're all slightly different....

if I were to use a cooler I would actually use one from a 5sfe. They work with a coolant adapter built in so there's no oil lines to run, just coolant lines to the cooler on the block.

my ae92 (4age) doesn't have a cooler. my wifes 86 MR2 I removed the cooler (well, at least the adapter from the block). My 4agze aw11 I run without a cooler.

I don't think they're all that beneficial and yet add a big weak point to your oil system.

ok.... congratulations? They still don't all have them. In my research long ago when it mattered to me I recall it being a Celica thing..... but could be wrong. Either way, not all 7a pans have the return line on them.

I guess I lucked out. Even though I don't have the cooler hooked up.
So you are saying the Celicas don't have them?
Mine was from a '93 Corolla DX.

The good thing about the 7A pan though, is that because of the thickness of the material, you could probably drill and tap it without having to weld in a bung like the 4A.

Something I just discovered: The oil pan off my FX-16, has the drain on the back side, whereas all the other Corolla oil pans I have ever seen have the drain on the front side.
Also, the FX-16 drain looks like it would do a better job of emptying the pan.

I believe the rears will fit, but for the fronts, the sedan was the same as the 88-89 GTS. For the 90-91 GTS you will have to get the caliper, caliper bracket, backing plate (optional) and the rotors to do the swap. The 90-91 setup has a slightly larger rotor. Do a search, I know there is at least one thread out there about this.

ok, i found mine's..

Front Brake Upgrade I'm sure you all know about...

Mostly because i wanted to see if it was still there.

I would measure before I listen to anyone....

My SR5 had identical front brakes to the 1990 geo prizm gsi I had. I know this for sure because after i parted the gsi one of the bearings went into my SR5.... I compared calipars and rotors during the bearing change (whole hub, actually) and they were identical.

There were always rumors that the SR5 used the same brakes as the sedan and not the GTS.... so it's possible that the rumor about the sedans being different is incorrect as well.
