High-Beam Issue

Hey guys, i'm new to this forum so Hi all!

I bought a '91 levin about a week ago and only just realised tonight the high beams are broken.

The strange thing is if i pull back the level to flash the beams they do come on, along with the high beam indicator. however when my lights are on if i push the lever forward to lock in the high beams the blue high-beam indicator light comes on, the low-beams turn off, but the high beams don't come on.

Anyone know how i could approach fixing this?

Replace the lever and switch assembly.

Could be the relay... check the relay before you go hacking away at the steering wheel and switches.

How could it be the relay since the high beams and indicator work when he pulls the lever back, and the only time it doesn't work is when he pushes the lever forward?

The same relay for the high beams is activated whether the lever is pushed forward or backward.

true... still should check though as it would be the first thing to go if there's a short.
