I spy with my little eye, a couple cars in the area just rotting away in driveways...
There's an AE86 SR5 coupe around the corner, white. Just sitting in someone's driveway collecting dust. Also a 1st Gen MR2 lying in the same condition around the other corner. Both white, both 5spd...
Debating on talking to the owners and seeing if they're up for grabs, and which one I'd want... I'm thinking the MR2 if it's SC'd - I think so, cuz it's a 1987 from the looks of it, spoiler and all. If not, the SR5 Hachi-Roku coupe...swap my current GT-S's 4A-GE into that badboy...
Getting sideways would be the only reason I'd want either of those cars. And an AE86 has its fame. Plus a JDM'd-out coupe Hachi would be rad imo. Almost hoping the MR2 isn't a 4A-GZE.
not sure how you distinguished between an 87 and 88?
if it's an original s/c model it will be;
an 88 or 89 (externally you can tell this whether it has an LED spoiler or not)
A t-top
an engine lid that has 2 large "bumps" in it (drivers side has an i/c under it)
supercharged logos everywhere
n/a wise... the 87 and 88 look the same.

the mr-2 from the bunch is the best bang for the buck. i've owned 2 sw20 and i'd own another in the future.

as a guy who has owned, a bunch of ae86 mr2(aw and sw) and some ae92... id say just stick to the ae92...
some reasons are:
1. ae86 parts = LOTS of MONEY
2. mr2 aw11 is super small and goes KAPOW alot... no such thing as a mr2 owner that doesnt punch the crap outta this little roadster..
3. mr2 sw20 has an act for just not working sometimes...(goes on vacation)
4. ae92 not much people know about them, not many parts available, but they never come with lots of abuse as a 8th owner of a ae86 that wonders why there is a 8 inch hole cut out into the trunk when the 5th owner was trying to make a se20 swap and gave up half way when cutting the car...
5. ae92 parts are WAY cheaper and EASIER to get to repair your car from regular auto manufactures...
so thats my reasons for my answers from which i learned from having all these cars... ae92 to me, is like a awesome commuter, and very reliable...

Yeah, just sticking with the ae92. Gonna just save up and overhaul everything, hopefully with bright shiny internals and bolt-ons. Currently working on getting the pinstriping and sticker badging off in lieu of shiny new Corolla and GT-S badgery. Pics when I'm done (like 3ft of pinstripe off per day lol)

Yes sir, got my girlfriend's Conair blow dryer... and some orange extract glue remover stuff with a little plastic scraper. Still too chilly outside to keep the heat long enough to make it easy on me, but lemme tell ya - the quarter I've finished so far is looking gorgeous. Can't wait to get it done and get the metallic badges on <3

Where are you getting the door badges from? I tried ordering from toyota but they are discontinued. They do however have the "toyota corolla" badge on the trunk but not the "GT-S".
