LoL! i was about to say the same thing... dude the supercharge is awesome, but remember this, the money you spent on the supercharger, you're going to wonder why didn't you just go turbo...

i had thought about this also, seeing as most 4ag's are not supercharged. going turbo might actually be cheaper and depending on what size and power your looking at, lag might never be an issue.

you could use the harness and supercharger mounting brackets and sc12 from any year supercharger. there are differences however. with the 90-91 smallport i belive the mount and supercharger bypass is different due to the manifold design. i think evo-lucian did supercharge his NA redtop with gze hardware.

or if you were to ever pieace out a supercharged setup on its own id be all custom, aside from what others stated about using the GZE, which might be cheaper then supercharing a NA 4age from scratch. the two things a 4agze does not have that you can do for your own setup is a standalone and a better super charger, maybe a eaton m45 from a mini or even buying a custom twinscrew supercharger. eitherway superchargers are never known for making huge horsepower on 4cly engines. if response is your thing i would actually consider doing the BEAMS 3sge engine setup. it should be on par with a tuned GZE setup.

actually some guy on the mr2 website fitted a twinscrew on a gze setup. http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=166542

the gze will be easier...... because it's done and in a package....

the turbo will make more power but the gze will make more off-idle torque...

since you're in WA.... watch craigslist.... there's a FWD 4agze currently on craigslist for $900

i've helped install turbo kits on other cars, and even swapped my own turbo engine into my old mr2. its not professional advice, but im farmilar with what needs to be done.

turboing a NA 4age vs putting supercharged parts on the NA 4age, it close to the same amount of work. lol well thats in my view anyways since to me there isnt much difference since both those mods are external of the engine. i just remember how much i pain it was to unbolt everything from the aw11 gze block while it was in my buddies car....

Find a wrecked MR2 SC, take the motor and everything... then find a wrecked Previa SC, retrieve the SC14 supercharger and swap it in place of the SC12 on the GZE and you've got yourself a monster in the works.

rdyzz you right, did a supercharged 4age using all ae92 4agze hardware and electronics a couple years ago. Honestly unless you can get a 4agze complete swap and do wiring and labour for cheap then IMO supercharging the 4ag with 4agze pieces or turbo are better routes to go.

I was hitting 9 psi with compression ration around 10.6:1. Alot cheaper and easier than a full 4agze swap. pulled harder than any 4age or 4agze i have ever driven to date.

LOL, my gze setup pulls harder than any gze setup I've driven in or against.... and harder than any 20V I've seen/ridden in. when it had the heavier E series in it it kept up with then passed a stock 2nd gen turbo mr2 at high speeds. with the C series the MR2 is WAY better... much faster down low, just doesn't have the same upper end pull.

mine is in an 87 hardtop mr2.... an ae101 setup, C52 trans from an ae92 gts... with megasquirt 1 v2.2.

this was set up on MS like 6 years ago... I bought the motor for $700, sold the trans it came with for $200, bought the E51 for $400 w/ axles.... MS was around $300 including the relay board..... after random pieces, fluids, etc... to initially set it up to a 4agze took about 3 months of parts gathering/building, about $1400.... didn't have the gze leanout issue...

the e51 got sold for $500.... so if you use a C series you can drastically reduce the cost.

again to the OP.... there's a local gze on craigslist
