no replacement strut is going to be good at dropping a few inches... they all have more or less the same stroke. and a few inches is too much for any of them.
what are you planning on doing with the car? hard parking? cruising? daily driving? motorsport?
to tell you what has the most "value" you have to tell us what you value...

what eage8 said... and ig your looking into what i did with my dx sedan.... stay away.. i mean stay away from the DropZone junk.... literally they were cheap, and i mean cheap... they rode for literally like 400miles and boom the struts in the front were dead.... go with the good old tokico or kyb... the DZ ride like cheap ass gabriels or monroes... maybe even worst... im looking into getting the GTS strut tubes and doing the conversion with koni yellows and coil springs with some nice camber plates...

Thanks doir the advice. In terms of what i'd like to do, I really wanted to get into autocrossing. I figured koni yellows were probably the way to go, but ive got a friend with done sort of kyb (gr2 or g2,or something to that effect?) And i've never heard of them, so I thought i'd ask. How are kybs?
I've gotten a set of factory struts to replace the ones on my car previously (they were far beyond expired) and I've run into another problem. The strut bracket at the bottom won't line up with the rotor (steering knuckle, I think?). Me and a friend have fanagled with it to hell and back and no avail. The spring sits too low, and we can't pull the steering knuckle low enough or pull the steering knuckle high enough. We get closer and closer, but it seems as if all the progress was a luck thing, and they despite how close we get, moving the rotor down/moving the spring up seems few and far between.
for autocross I would really just go with the koni yellows. If you plan to really get into it that's where you'll end up anyway... I first replaced my struts with KYB GR2s and then started autocrossing. the fronts blew pretty quick and I wanted to go to higher spring rates that the KYBs couldn't handle so I have koni yellows on my car now.
If you buy them before 5/31 I think you get 20% off on tirerack.com...
can you post some pictures of what you're doing? you should be able to just push down on the lug nuts with your foot with the top of the strut bolted up already and get the bottom holes to light up.

do you have to get a gts housing to be able to use koni insert?
GTS Front cartridge - 8641-1146SPORT
SR5/SDN Front cartridge - 8641-1145SPORT
are this the same thing?
some sedans and SR5s came with cartridge type front struts too, but they're different than the GT-S struts (smaller in diameter) the GT-S struts are better though.

been sarching for them hard to find gts housing for a while now and i quit
so this SR5/SDN Front cartridge - 8641-1145SPORT would fit on 1.75diameter strut housing?
Since I've replaced my front struts with ones from autozone for now, I've been hearing an odd clicking noise coming from both wheels; the left wheel more often than the right wheel. I feel like it could be the dust cover, or it might be the brake line hitting against the rotor.
And also, when i go over curbs, or hit speed bumbs, I hear a grinding noise coming from the left strut that sounds like metal on metal. Someone told me that it may be that I didn't bolt down the strut mounts enough to where the strut is moving in and out of place when I hit speed bumps. Is that possible? I personally think the spring might be rotating within the strut, but that's just me.
