exhaust system

i was looking at an exhaust system off a 92 prizm i could get to put on my car. since the catalytic converter's tore off. well, mines a 90 geo prizm hatchback and the 92 prizm is a sedan. i think it'd about be the same size and have the same hangers. anyway.
so i've never done this before. it comes unbolted right after the manifold with 2 bolts. and it runs along and is hung around the middle, somewhere before it starts all curving, i think, then again before the muffler, then after, right at the end. so all these, i just unhook, right? unbolt the exhaust after the manifold at those 2 bolts right? is there a gasket? then well, the exhaust runs along and right before the rear suspesion it runs up and over the suspension, then back down, below the suspension and hangs at the end of the exhaust. it goes over the suspension, and i know the can can't go over that and back the other way.
so can you weed it out through that, and get the exhaust pipe from after the manifold through there, and out the back? so i can hook it up to my car? i noticed the guy who put the exhaust on my car, i didnt see no cuts or anything, and it was just cut from around the catalytic coverter and the new exhaust has a bigger pipe, and the old pipe was just put in it.
something about that, it buzzes as i ride down the road, giving away my exhaust system is cut and might not have a catalytic converter if i ride at certain rpms. its cut before any hangers, so its just hanging there. i think he actually got the exhaust off a newer prizm and cut it and put it on it.

so just wanting to ask, has anyone done it? so i dont get all that done and find out stuff is messed up. so can it weed out the whole exhuast system after the manifold, with the catalystic converter on it, out the back, over the suspension in the back, with no gasket or anything? thanks.

havent looked under the skirt of a prizm but usually the exhaust splits in 2 parts. one being by the exhaust manifold ( headers ) 2-3 bolts ( may have a gasket, u can get at local autoparts store ) and the other is just before the rear axle, before it bends up and over the suspension. that should also split with 2-3 bolts and again may have a gasket. if it doesnt split at all u will have a very hard time ( if even possible ) to get it out and over the suspension. only other way would be to cut it and reweld it back together when its in the other car. hope this helps a bit. good luck
