i changed axles. once i got done, i noticed, one side the rotor wouldn't exactly go down flat. it has a little tick tick sound when i go down the road. also, the lug nuts stick out longer that the tire on the other side, so. i dont know what to do. does anyone know whats going on?
different hub?
also, 3 tires had honda rims, on this 90 geo prizm. they where changed, the bad axles in front where changed. i got a part car. i had to push the rotors on the hubs, because they where bent up from the honda rims, them popping around. they are bigger in the middle, just bigger, altogether, id ont know whats going on. i had to push tehm onj put the lug nuts on backwards, and impact them on, to get it to go on, and go around and around unitl they where flat. ok, so i put it all together, rode it around, came back. it was wobbling a little, and i didn't pushj the piston down in caliper on that side, and i flipped brakes around, so i took brakes apart. old rotor, i took off, i had to pull off, with 2 bolts in the rotor to push it off, other side, i started pushing with lugs, then after a little bit it hit on with a hammer. and was loose and doesn't wobble. so after taking the brakes apart, i hit the rotor some and it was wobbling around, i tried to set it flat, it do3esn't seem like it wants to sit flat. i tried getting it flat. i hear a tick tick tick tick, on that side.
is there a way to get the hub off? where does it come off at? the car i can get it off has good wheel bearings and tie rods, ball joints. just how do i get it? or well, that one side, the rotor wouldn't go on at first, and then it did, it was warped at the end, maybe itll flatten out? i tried retightening the lug nuts after riding ofr a while.
my ADD is strong I had a hard time reading this lol. grab a wire brush and clean inside the rotor and the out side of the hub. if the hub bolts are different then probably it's a wrong hub. our 6th gens are old cars and chances are everything I still original oem parts. if you wanna pull the hub you'll need a hub puller as far as I know and a press to push in the bearing. remember with bad bearings you could lose a wheel best of luck
the lug nuts are longer, the bolts that go on. the lug nuts have bolts sticking out further than the other tires, the bolts are longer. the rotor doesn't seem to sit down flat, but the bolts are coming out farther, so i dont think it has anything stuck underneath it. im not trying to get the bearings out, im trying to get a hub. so i seen a video where some guy showed pushing out the bearigns. he had the whole part i need out. so everything, remove the lower control arm 3 bolts, and nuts, the tie rod, and the axle, then you got those 2 big bolts on that big thing. are them able to be gotten off? i heard you couldn't or had to cut them. impact wrench? and i heard about the strut, or shock. so can somenoe help me.
ok im looking to get the steering knuckle out. the whole thing. it'd be easier. the lower control arm remove it with the 2 nuts and 1 bolt. remove the axle, remove the tie rod, and then theres 2 big bolts. are them ok to get out? do they get stuck? iheard you had to cut them to get them off, an impact wrench? can you get them off with that? is that it. is there anything else? can i do it?
about 35 seconds into this
it shows the part i want to get out, and you see the 2 big bolt holes, thats what bolts ill have to get out. are they safe to get out? can i get them out?'
or heck look at the preview, see the 2 big bolt holes coming at you, them are the 2 bolts id need to get off. to get that whole thing off. it safe to take off? can i get it off?
oh heres another picture i found, kind of looks the same, came from camry section. so what im needing is the hub, something round and my tire and rotor fits on good, and doesn't wobble. it doesn't show how to get it off here. see the steering knuckle? see where it connects to the shock absorber? can i get it off? it shows the hub off. how does it come off?

Reason: video
ok, so i looked it up, the hub comes out with a hub puller. it comes back in with a press. so lets forget about that. the 2 bolts that hook up to the shock absorber, that bolt the steering knuckle to the shock absorber, the page i got that picture from says to just unhoookit. its from a camry and it's different. i want to know if i can take them bolts off without it killing me. thats a camry, if i do this on a geo prizm or a toyota corolla front wheel drive, no all trac or any crap, is it going to kill me? or is it just going to come off? how hard is it to get off. can they come off?
OH KAY!! if you wanna remove the knuckle the top two bolts that are connected to the struts are 19mm i believe but before this you will need to take the brake calipers off.
the axles nut has a cotter pin in it you will need to take out with pliers before you take the nut off and don't reuse the old one just get a new one they are cheap.
with the axle nut removed grab a hammer and put something against the axle (something that will dampen the force) and hit it (your doing this to free the axle so when you remove the knuckle you won't pull it out spilling trans fluid everywhere. (i think the nut is a 29 and you'll need to impact it off it's probably stuck on good)
next is the tie rod i believe it's a 14mm and that also has a cotter pin
now theres 2 nuts and one bolt or vice versa for the ball joint after that it should come out
thats how you do it but i wouldn't recommend it to you if you are doing it by yourself with no mechanical exp reason being when you put the nut back on the axle if you over torque it you can damage the bearing and with a damaged bearing your wheel can fly off
can i get some torque values? i have a torque wrench but i didn't use it. i tightened the tie rod nut 17mm, i have a impact wrench runs off a car cigarette lighter. i use it for a bunch of stuff. i didn't really try to tighten real tight, but i didn't want to have it real not pretty tight, since it was holding the wheel on, the 2 nuts and bolts, under the lower control arm, tightened them with it, and the axle, i used it to get the nut on and off. then yea them 2 bolts and nuts, on the suspension. the lower control arm nuts and bolts wehre 17mm. i'm not for sure, i got a 19mm socket i can try to check if thats the size of them nuts and bolts on the shock absorber. so its ok to take them bolts and nuts off, and are they hard? i seen one guy in a video, using a breaker bar 5 foot long to turn them. my impact wrench, goes up to 250ft. lbs it says, it just spins around then hits. i iddn't really overtighten the bolts on the lower control arm. how about the tie rod? i heard axle torque values are pretty high. any torque values anybody got? axle nut size is 30mm and im just going to reuse it instead of using aftermarket 29mm and buying another 15dollar socket. hahaha.
