ae92 idle problem

hi guys!
pls help me regarding with my car, my normal idle is 800 rpm without the
aircon, this is the problem, when the aircon is engaged, the rpm will fall to
400 rpm till the engine dies.... temporarily I adjusted the idle to 1500 rpm
to compensate my idle with aircon, as a result it will become 1000 rpm
with aircon (but without it is 1500 rpm)... also i've noticed that it is not
consistent, the idle is varrying..
Recently the hoses from idle vacuum switch were removed upon tune up
activity... I doubt that it wasn't return to its original locations (as this may be the main cause) from what I think, am I right? ^__^

I'm comparing mine from my friends car with the same model (1989 toyota corolla 4af 16 valve engine, manual tranny) but the carb was'nt the same, mine was converted (to automatic) as the mechanic says.. I dont know the history of my car since it was 2nd hand when i bought it...

Can someone post the hose connection diagram for thermal vaccum switch valve on automatic tranny model? I found this diagram but I think it was not intended for my car:

oopss... sorry for my bad english btw, ill post the picture of my actual carb later....

Thanks in Advance buddies

If your ae92 is the same as the USA spec. ae92, look on the firewall between the windshield wiper motor and the MAP sensor and you'll see what Toyota calls the VSV valve. The VSV valve has a two wire connector going to it and it has two vacuum lines going to it. You either need to replace this valve, or you have it hooked up incorrectly.

Take a look at the backside of carb (between engine and firewall). On the lower section of carb should be lever with an adjusting screw. When a/c gets turned on this should move to raise the idle speed. Probably is a vac line going to it as well. Make sure that it's connected there as well as at the vac switch. I can't find a pic but am going from memory when I had my 4ALC carbed toyota.
