AE92 Allright lets talk temperature switch

Man this summers been ideal for unusual things to go wrong..this week is temperature switch. So far did a lil bit of a search and no info on it too much. The problem is my temp switch is not working at all but its not the switch itself but the plug is the problem and it seems this been coming from way back but it seems yesterday was the day to mess with my mind. I leave it unplugged and the fan works fine non stop but when I plug it in it doesnt enven starts. The switch and plug use 1 pin and its located on the water inlet pipe. Is it a good idea to leave it unplugged or it be best to put in a new plug or work something out and does it do anything else besides turning the fan on?

nope, it's just the sensor to turn on the fan. but I would still replace it, running the fans all the time might make the die pre-maturely and then you won't have any fans...

If that sensor is on the thermostat housing maybe the stats the issue instead of the switch.

Its like eage8 says..it only controls the fan...the one for the stats is the one near the engine harness, the plug is like square if im not mistaken...right now just finished changing which could be the hardest hose ever, the one that goes from the thermostat housing to a line that goes in the engine I think, hose aint that big almost like around 3 inches. Old one was lookin like a tumor ready to blow...hardest part was putting new one in since its not easy to do using the original hose clamps cause of so little space so had to use the screw clamps in change which seem to be workin fine
