have a well, i'm not going to say. it's a 88-92 geo prizm. anyway. so i've heard the spark plug gap is supposed to be .31 or .41. can someone tell me which it is? ive heard it's the carbureted one whjich they dont have on a geo. that is the .31 and not .41 or maybe it's .41. .. then i've heard theres a vin number on a 90 that means it's different and maybe the gap is different, its .31 instead of .41. maybe. the before is .31 or .41. .. i heard 88-89 was .31 not .41. but 89 has a fuel injection. so does mine, with a vin number. anyway. then i heard its .41 for the newer looking engine. theres a picture of it. it has curves, made in 92 or 93, maybe late 92. anyway, my moms 92 didn't have it. and mine doesn't. which is it? im looking for spark plug gap for my car. and they say that stock calls for platinum plugs. they say its whats called for by the company. you guysbuying copper? so which spark plug gap is it? it doesn't say under the hood. my car had the catalytic converter missing and im now trying to find out, if it was making my spark plugs get eat up. or maybe they replaced the fuel pump, i knmow that, and maybe got it off ebay and its cheap. the catalytic converters replaced, alonmg with 2 mpg. .. screwed. anyway, can anyone help me?

.032 assuming it a fuel injected 4afe. Use the same ND (Nippondenso) plug that came stock with car. Advance usually stocks em. Toys run best if you stick with ND
ok, so why does everybdoy say .41. you say .32 but, why do they say .41, and the platinum, which are supposed to be hard to gap, are hard to gap and .42 pregapped. hard to gap platinum. .42 is the gap for which car? my plugs came .42.
i'll go ahead and do it, but there hard to hit down. why would i want to hit them down. ive never seen the other motor ive seen picture of. i seeen a 92.
Look under your hood, the gap size should be specified on the sticker... 4AFE and 4AGE as well as 4AF all have different gaps, different plugs as well which is probably why you keep hearing different answers.
BTW I've never had any problems gapping platinum plugs...
Try calling a Toyota dealership parts dept. and asking them. With a VIN# they should be able to look it up for you and order pre-gaped OEM replacements as well.
I was going to look it up in my factory service manual when I got home... but I think I'll pass on it. good luck...
Yea, Ren was only trying to help. Most people don't know about the sticker under the hood, and if you had one, it would've answered your question. But now nobody want's to help a jerk.

Hopefully on the next forum he visits (lucky them ) he can provide accurate info on what he is driving and what engine is in it. Then he won't whine when he gets erroneous info (from people like me) who waste their time and attempt to help based on what little information is given. Better yet maybe he can walk to that funny looking building called a library( probably banned there too) and look it up for himself .
You guys showed a lot of class in the way this was handled. In typical TN fashion, you tried to help the guy despite incomplete (or downright confusing) information in his original post, and then you didn't react in like kind when the OP got really nasty to someone who was sincerely trying to help. I'm especially grateful to the moderator(s) who cleaned things up so quickly. Well done, everybody.
