Gen6 Finally some real springs! >:]

FINALLY GOT MY DROP SPRINGS!

So today I finally had a day off from work and the desire to do work! >:]

I was goin for the APEX springs at first. but no luck ordering them -__- i tried Andy's Auto Sport. a few days later they called me and told me they dont carry them -__- why the hell would they STILL have them listed? Anyway, they asked if i wanted the ST springs or the B+G springs.. I didnt know which ones to get >.< sooo, i just said the B+G's! Honestly i really hope i made the right choice, but anyway, that was all the way back on may 22 -__- i got an email saying due to a back oder they'll ship out by 6/30 but i read it like it said 5/30. i re-read the email 2 weeks later and i read it incorrectly. on july 1st i received another email saying they wont ship out til the 7th! >.<
At this time i was super pissed! well on the 4th i decided to make an angry email. i told them they had until the 16th to send me an email or i would cancel my order and get my refund. they never replied. and when I finally got to it to call them on the 22nd. they told me it should arrive on the same day! i got the tracking number. i looked it up and by god it was out for Delivery! :O anyway, they came in 2 hours after i hung up the phone. :] SUCCESS!!!

No for something less boring >:] THE PICTURES >

CUT SPRINGS:[

before the drop,, err I Mean lift? lol

as you can see i USED to drive a civic -__-
the guy who cut my springs drove an Integra and was an avid Honda dude.

closer look at before and afters.

Passenger Front Wheel

Passenger Rear Wheel

Driver's Rear Wheel

Driver's Front wheel

This was the first day i had cut the springs. I also painted the rims white that day.

INSTALL!

Today i did all work alone! and let me tell you im SO GLAD i have a covered driveway! if not i wouldve died in this texas heat and sun >.< damn it. it took me about 3-3.5 hours to complete, then again i did stop to eat. anyway here are some during photos
;]

front spring -_-

rear spring :[

rear spring again >.< i ALWAYS had to adjust it correctly when i lifted the back.

the new rear spring

the front spring

I forgot to take a picture of the front ones when i took them off >.< but those sat tight in the strut.

Final Product!

passenger front wheel

passenger rear wheel
LOOK AT ALL THE INCHES LIFTED >.<

driver rear wheel.

driver front wheel.

pictures are worth a thousand words <3 lol
as you can see the rear sits alot higher than before!

I've driven it around very little, but at the normal bumps where it used to hit nasty, its just a small bump. :] the cut springs were never bouncy, and these new springs feel smooth, it feels alot better. less slammed more lowered, I like it, and it still doesnt look like a monster truck like the stock height >:]

I Pledge This Day Forward, I will NEVER Cut springs EVER! IN MY LIFE! now my power steering is all,,, loose. i would say.. it just doesnt feel the same, and my rack and pinion boots are both torn! >.< im just goin to take it to a Mechanic and check it out.
ANYWAY off to settle in the new springs :3

Oh and yes i do know about having to get an alignment, but i believe i should take a look at the steering and have it looked at first so i could fix it, then align it, rather than having to get 3 alignments in the past couple of months. (I already got one when i got my new tires. >.< and NO those bastards didnt even tell me the problem (if any) with my steering rack! >.< anyway, sorry for all the boring words.

Torn boots are not always a problem, they do lead to problems. So, any shop looking for money would probably not tell you of a torn boot so stuff can get inside the rack & pinion and screw it up. As long as all the moving components are fine, then of course, if not, change them out is rather simple.... and changing the boot while it's off and easily accessed.

Looks great! Nice work getting rid of the cut springs, those things are dangerous as hell. The stance from the new springs makes it look so much better, mainly due to the fact that the wheels follow the curve of the arch now. Well done doing it yourself too

Yeah SCT I know >.< damn them! but imma go to a different shop, somewhere a bit more expensive, i just want them to diagnose it, so i can do those myslef too ;] i already have one r&p boot, just need one more. and to make sure i dont need to change anything else . :p and yeah them cut springs were from like December. so im glad i got rid of those before they cracked or something >.< at least my shocks are still in GREAT condition NO LEAKS or anything!

yeah 808, i dont understand that! eage8 pointed me into a direction where i had to order them through Canada but i couldnt get a number to order nor see pricing info >.<

ANYWHO, I've been riding around today and man it feels great, and on my way to and from work, it felt smooth i feel less of the road. its a nice feeling, plus alot of bumps i used to hit nasty, feel like bumps and not pot holes lol

no sure which one is best still depends on your preference I think. Was just asking because I had a set of those before and I thought they were Apexi springs or were they?

Haha yeah, i was thinkin the same. But then you realize Apex'i makes engine and transmission performance parts. But Apex is more suspension products.
