Anyone else experience this?

My 90 Corolla GT-S (4AGE) really drops in RPM when the e-fan is engaged.
It has never stalled on me yet, but does drop from 900 to between 400 to 500rpm. The steering wheel shakes, and if I rev it (blip the throttle), it sometimes returns to 900rpm.
The alt is right at 14.2V, the battery is good, I have cleaned the TB, checked vacuum lines........ and just plain did a good "once over" under the hood.
Anyone else experience this? Is my e-fan just toast and drawing too much current? Is there a connector somewhere that is common to fail?
Anyone swap in an e-fan from a different make of vehichle?
Thanks for any help or suggestions,

Tye

My RPMs do drop too but not that much. Also the RPMs return back to near where they were before the fan turned on. I would check all the connections at fan and relay/fusebox to see if there is corrosion.

My e fan does not do this, but i worked on a mazda miata that did, as did my sisters mini cooper. The mazda had a slight short on the radiator core support, and badly corroded connector, the mini rats got into the wiring and was shorting against a bunch of other things causing component chaos lol.

There is are idle-up diodes installed in the loom under the steering wheel. One of these may be broken.
This diode raises the RPM whenever you switch on the A/C, rear window defroster, headlights, ect.
I believe this is the same for the radiator cooling fan.

The diodes are usually in a orange connector but recall to have a blue and a grey one as well.
