swapping out power windows? will work?

wanted to know if possibly i could swap out the power winows in the 92LE and put it in the 88..

im thinking of swapping out everything and putting it in the 88... going to be so much work so i will probably have to do little by little..

just wondering if the power windows is a simple swap, i just love how the door panels in the 92 look, and gauge, and seats, and everything..

another thing i look into swapping is my windshield wiper switches, and also the light switchs, the ones in the 88 only have one windshield wiper speed, not sure if broken or it came like that??

my mechanic said its not worth puttin an engine in this thing, labour+engine costs just as much a new corolla.. so its going to be my parts car, which was what it was suposed to be in the beginning

i could possible do an EFI swap... i just hate the stupid carburator. would probably be pretty hard though huh, im sure the 4afe intake mani is still ok.. the engine runs, its just that the piston is loose from the crank it seems like... and it bangs loudly while driven.. still drivable though but dangerous

I bought a used japanese engine for $200 to replace my motor with a blown headgasket. I can't imagine labor would cost $15,000. (I dunno, how much does a new Corolla cost?)

I'll bet you could even swap in your 4AF keeping the EFI in the car. (Not 100% sure...) Seems better to me than swapping every little piece over to your 88.

i dont mean a brand new corolla but a used ae92 is what i ment.. a new motor is $450 from junkyard and my mechanic wants $600 to install it.. i never done an engine swap my self not sure how hard it is and not sure if i should try it.. might be worth doing a swap if i swap it out my self..

so far i swapped out the seats and armrest, i am going to swap the gauge cluster soon, and than the rear struts... then while the parts car sits maybe i should try taking out the engine.. maybe if it looks simple i will buy a engine and swap it in.. the only thing thats keeping me away is what if i get a messed up engine... time wasted installing a bad engine, that would just suck... but than how hard is it really? unbolt the transmission and engine mounts, unwire everything, pull out... then when you install just do the same just in reverse.. sounds kinda easy but probably isnt

600 is a decent price for the swap

is that $600 for the motor + swap or just for the labor? If for just labor, its a bit steep for me. I did the swap and it didn't seem like $600 worth of labor.

$600 labour not including engine... with that 600 i could buy an engine crane for $350 and put the rest of the money towards a new motor... the thing is i gotta clear out my garage first, its full or junk and no space to put engine crane.. once that is done ill attempt to disconnect the motor and if all seems possible to do ill pick up an engine crane and motor..

your mechanic isnt a friend at all... the engine swap literally is very easy and simple. i had a blown headgasket on mine, i took out the motor, ripped it apart clean and machined everything, put it back together with all new gaskets, and installed it back in took me 2 days and 8 hours to do... just about 2 days to wait for everything to get back from machine shop, other than that, if i had everything it took me about 10 hours of work, and i was being lazy too.. its not hard, this car is simple as eating pie...

yes it is very possible for you to switch power windows and locks over to your car but your gonna need alot of the wiring from the car with the PW and locks well one main part the body harness originally my car had manual windows and locks you'll need the body harness don't forget the power windows and power locks relays
