USA 1992 Corolla/Prism

Hi, I've got a 1992 Geo Prism/ Toyota Corolla. Cooling fan runs constantly until car it shut off. Having trouble finding a two prong switch for the cooling fan that screws into bottom of radiator. All sources I have found offer a one wire one prong switch that is NOT compatable with the plug I have on this car. I need one with a two prong switch. Been to all locals part stores(Advance Auto, Napa, Rock Auto. etc.) with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you remove part and look for a part number and do an internet search on it? Otherwise check GM or Toy parts dept.

The cooling fans will run constantly as a fail safe measure if the fan wiring is messed up or a connector is corroded. Look for a connector for the cooling fan below the battery tray. Pull it apart, clean the contacts, and chances are the system will be restored to normal. A bad connection to the coolant temp sensor will also cause the fan to run all the time.

Found! 1992 Geo Prism/Corolla thermo fan switch

Found this switch by removing it and looking at pictures online of similar switches. This switch is NOT listed for a Geo Prism anywhere that I can find. It is listed as one for a 1986-88 Toyota Tercel, 1990-91 Lexus LS400 and mid to late 80's Celicas. It does make some sense being that these are all still Toyota products. Thanks for the response.

On your car, the computer turns the fan on and off. There is a relay under the hood, but the most likely issue is either the coolant temp sensor connection (near the thermostat) or the wiring harness connector below the battery tray that I described above.
