WTB 6th gen Corolla (lots of details)

I currently have an auto 90 Celica ST and I love it. Its extremely reliable, low miles for its age, just not exactly what i want.

I know that this gen Corolla also has a 4afe, so i generally trust it, and my 4age 20v swap plan would be the same and its still FWD anyway. I just like the body style of the 6th gen Corolla more.

ANYWAY, I am located in Cincinnati, and I found a PERFECT 6th gen to fit my needs for sale on craigslist up in Chilicothe, OH. It was $450, needed a door (at least a window), had a little rust on the rear wheel wells and it was a 5 speed. But the seller never replied.

I plan on getting a really cheap yet reliable 6th gen Corolla that I'd be able to do some body work on like replacing a fender or bumper, repair rusty wheel wells and then paint.

Now my main preferences are:
5 speed
Gray interior
Manual locks/windows
Some small body work to compensate price, and to learn from

Paint job does NOT matter. I WANT a car to paint.

I mainly made this thread to see what is out there, but if I happen to find one I really like, I'd probably be on it. I don't really want to drive TOO far from Cincinnati but I guess that depends on the car. It has to AT LEAST make it back here.

Feel free to post craigslist ads, your own car or whatever. I just want to see what is available.

hey i know this is super far from you, but if your interested, i am in the process of selling my car, its a california car, so no rust what so ever, also its very reliable. its a white sedan with blue interior, i know you wanted grey... but its 5 speed, manual lock and window, no ac(everything is there, just need a new compressor maybe) but i do have a build page here in toyotanation for you to see, it will be on the craigslist add, its ok if you dont want it, i know im far from you, and its probably a little more expensive then what your looking for, but ill tell you, i put alot of work and money into this already so it will be a steal anyway.

i have lots of stuff that will be comming with this car, like stock springs, shocks, top hats, etc etc. again good luck on finding one.

I get u man. That was the same reason I sold my 88gts. Loved that car. But the world revolves around credit.

I had the same thing with my MR2.. Was offered motorcycles, an ae86 and more but couldn't do it because I owed money.

And yeah you guys are a little far and I am looking for a four door sincity, but I also have a friend who is looking for a white one and I'm sure a gray interior (most parts) would not be hard to come by at a junk yard.

He also hopes to travel so maybe it could be tied into that ha but as you said it is a little out of my (and our) hopeful price range. I'll talk to him about it and see what he thinks although it may be a month or more before he's even ready to buy it which kinda sucks... But I wouldn't get your hopes up reallly. Its a BIG maybe.

Is it's height fairly adjustable ayang? And where did you get your front lip? The body kit situation for these cars is confusing me...

And Ayang - the more i look at this car the more I love it! I trust my own 4afe enough that I believe yours would get a person or two back to Ohio haha... I'll see how much I can talk my friend into it. If he's interested though remember it may be a little long, and you may have sold it by the time he's ready. And if he is I may have a few more questions about the suspension and what not.

Thanks for the post though, I hope to see more of what's out there!

the height is not adjustable. its on 2' lowering springs... dropzone, but now im wishing i went with the adjustable coil sptings... but on the strut situation, im thinking about gx gts in the rear and 02 in the front... but yeah this baby will go anywhere with no problems, i have taken this thing all over and its a champ. oh yeha on the body, i made those pieces.. the front lip, or known as the home depot lip, i made from lawn edge plastic, and the sideskirts are from a mitsubishi cordoba and i just cutted them to fir the rear door.

Well some day I may be interested in one ordering one of those lips from you if you could do that ha.

And my friend says he wants that Corolla, only problem is funding and getting to California.
It'd be about a month or so before he's ready to buy it, but I'm certain he'd be willing to go get it. And if it's still for sale then I'd be sure to try and work something out with you.

I have a friend coming in from San Francisco on the 10th and maybe he'd know a thing or two about getting to California for cheap.

Although to be honest I don't see why that car wouldn't sell by the time we're ready for it. But please keep me updated!

sure np, dont worry, this car isnt a car to be sought out here in cali for some reason, i have few that called me, and 1 that came to look at it, and wanted to offer me only 300$ because he tried to justtify that its old... but on the lip, its cheaper to go to home depot, buy like a 10ft for 10$ and just cut what you need and zip tie it on the bumper, lol its cheaper and faster that way, if you order one from me itll be like me cutting a piece of plastic and sending it to you.. lol but yeah i mean you can always ship the car, i think my buddy shipped a car from cali to florida on the train for about 250$ or so...

Well that's not bad at all for shipping a car within the country. And my only other problem is that I hate to keep you waiting if you owe money on it...

And may I ask what exactly you got from home depot and if you know of a more stable way to install it? Haha I like the idea of it, just a little TOO ghetto for me

yeah, actually how your suppose to make the home depot lip is, cut what you need for the bumper, cut off the lower rounded part, so it looks like a straight line instead, and use bolts, nuts and washers that way itll look more legit and stable, i just ghetto'd it because i wanted to just put something there really fast, i might redo it, but the legit way, but one the bills im just tired of them calling and bugging me, its been like 5 years now, and still ring ring mail mail... i only owe them like 1450 now... so id just want to get rid of it and so be of it...

What material did you use?

Yours looks bigger than the ones I've seen using garage door whatever its called.

And knowing that makes me more eager to try and get it off your hands. When I hear a little more from my friend I'll be sure to PM you at least
