Stalling

I have a '91 4AFE that runs like a champ. Over just the past week whenever I come to a stop the revs go way down and it almost dies but then suddenly idles back up to normal idle speed (800-900RPM.)

It only does it momentarily and has stalled only once. It started back up with no problem whatsoever but the thing ran/runs so good and then this.

Bad batch of fuel maybe? I'm still 3/4 full so I don't think topping it off would prove anything.

Seems to be running a bit rich too. Any ideas...or just wait until that tanks gone?

Might try checking for check engine codes. Sometimes the check engine light doesn't light but the codes are stored during a malfunction.

Good idea. I'll give that a go over the weekend.

Never got around to checking the codes. New tank of fuel seems to have fixed it.

I just panicked because this car never misses a beat.

I started this thread a while back and figured the issue was fixed. It has come back and I've noticed a pattern.
Seems every time the fuel tank has 1/4 or less left, it wants to stall when I come to a sudden or downhill stop. Otherwise it runs fine.
I know the easy solution is to keep it topped up but seeing as my daughter uses it also that's not always possible.
Any ideas?

Just a guess but may be the pickup screen in the tank is picking up some floating crud when the level is that low. Would require dropping the tank to clean it out replace screen and probably would be a good idea to replace the pump while in there.
