What would you do?

Short story. Son is driving my corolla, says he's at a stoplight waiting for the light to change when it quit running. No signs of impending doom . Just quits. Won't start. The compression is at 90, 90, 60, and 120 psi respectively. We changed the timing belt to make sure there was no issues with valve timing. That procedure left a little bit to be desired. I'm thinking that the quickest fix would be to swap out the engine. my questions are. will a 4AGE DOHC Silver Top 90-96 JDM engine work in my car and what would have to be modified to do so.

Thanks in advance

if ur car is fuel injected it will bolt on with less issue than a carb one ( not that a carb wont, u would just need to converto to efi first ). u will have to use the ecu and harness from the 4ag along with most accessories fly wheel clutch set. also get all sensors and manifolds. it is considered a "bolt on or drop in swap" the essentials change but it will fit easily enough. there are many threads on 20v swaps around. do A LOT of reading before jumping the gun.

as far as ur compression issue look into head gasket since u already did the timing belt and everything is aligned right. that is very low on 3 outa 4 pistons. its a non interference engine so dont think u bent valves... good luck

hrm.... 20v in minnesota, id prolly just go with the good old 4age red top because on the 20v not much people know this about this motor, but when i had one, i had to readjust the ITBs for the weather changes because on some weather as cold or hot it will run sputterish... but you will mostly feel it during high rev... also the parts availability for this motor is kind of hard to get as well, since this motor never came out here in america... but then again, if you want to put the cash down for that swap, you might as well just do the 4agze the supercharge swap and get the same amount of power but better because you are now boosting, and since you dont have smog laws there in minnesota id just drop the 4agze and go turbo if you want more bang for your buck and there is lots of parts availability for that motor from local stores like kragen and autozone...
