Corolla Alltrac Beginning to take Shape!

Ok! After a couple months have gone by and I've only began the corolla modifications recently. I purchased a 1994 Toyota Supra MKIV and have been Single turbo'ing it along with a TRD widebody kit. So needless to say I've been preoccupied but for good reason.
I'll put a couple teaser pics in there=P

So i live in the Pacific Northwest and summer here is fickle. We had 3 weeks of GREAT weather, then in a week its back to 40-60 range. Ugh...
So this reminded me that its fast approaching on the Snowboarding season!!!!

So i began on my Corolla!
Here's what I have so far...

I began with some seat changes due to timing mostly. I had a friend get rid of a set of 2002 Celica black leather seats because he gave up putting them in his 240 and bought a set of NISMO knock-off on eBay.

Fortunately for me 2/4 holes ALREADY lined up!!!!

Driver

Passenger

I then set of to see how far off the rear mounts were.
They were going to be off because the rails are significantly longer than the factory corolla ones.

This is the drivers side Inner mount.
I ground the attach-point down a little to clear the edge. Since the rail is longer i fab'd a piece of 1/8 angle steel to fit.

Sorry its shakey, it was taken from my iPhone.
But as you can see it fits well
My next step is to drill, tap and weld a nut for the vertical hole, and drill the hole for the horizontal inner one.

Next, i had to tackle the outer mount.

It located perfectly on the factory bracket, just not in the hole.
After looking at the seat i noticed a lean towards the Right rear corner of the seat. So i need to shim the seat up about 1 1/2 inches.

I already purchased a tap for the factory bolts and bought some aftermarket bolts of the same thread and pitch.
The plan here is to just drill a new hole outward of the existing factory and weld a nut to the inside of the bracket.

After that, i ran to the Passenger side and tried the Inner mount there.

This one was trixey because the mount was no where near the factory, and the tunnel for the drive-shaft is close, but cannot be used...

Again, i found a use for the 1/8 angle steel....

Here is the mount up, almost perfect!!

Again, drill, weld a nut and bam!! But here i had to use an aftermarket screw that's half the factory length because the tunnel is so close.

Outer mount for the Passenger....

Same as the outer driver thank god, except without the height difference.

And the seats are in!!!! (also look amazing!)

Next was my headlights because i cant stand looking at mine.

that is what i began with.

This is 1st mock-up.

I began with some used BMW 318IC headlights and removed the outer covering as the angle of the outer plastic was too sharp to use effectively and look good.

Removed the headlight bucket to check any stock locations i can re-use for later.

*note*
The Drivers side headlight assembly comes with the hood strut holder, keep this for later re-use.

After that it was a matter of getting the correct angle.

So these are going to be used as a mock-up for a bracket to attach to the factory locations on the corolla and the BMW headlights for ease of replacement and fit.

Since i need new tires for the winter i thought why not spruce up my wheels too!!!

Again, before....

Steelies!!!

And here is what i purchased

These are 15x6.5 Sparco NS2's made in Japan. I found a used set for unbelievably $350.
They got sent to a powder coating shop on Saturday for a Deep Bronze color.

To wrap these babies, i talked to a SCCA Road racing friend of mine who participates in the Redline Time Attacks with his Honda hatch.
He reccomended these.....

and honestly at 110 a tire from Tirerack.com i had to say yes...

Well, there she is so far, with MUCH more to come.
I hope you enjoied my build so far, and i'll post the finishes of the headlights later this week as they get further along.

Coming soon....

JDM SLX door panels and power doors
JDM SLX power folding mirrors
20V Blacktop turbo (8psi)
Coilovers

Oh, here's that MKIV....
Shes not done, but coming together nicely

Ceramic coated headers
Custom twin entry intake manifold with Infiniti Q45 throttle body
Full TRD widebody kit *spoiler deleted*

Good stuff bro. So did you trim the e30 headlights or create a new bracket?

That's a lot of tire to fit on 15x6.5s... and actually off the small end of the recommended wheel width. They also have really soft sidewalls, so if you do any sort of high performance driving you're going to need a crap ton of tire preassure. probably like 50 psi to keep them off the sidewalls.

I run 225/45 RS-3s on the front of my autocross corolla on 15x9s and still have to run them at 35 psi.

I would have gone with 195/50/15 Toyo R1Rs.

Well, i gave up on the E36 Headlights and an now using a set of E30's. They have the look i want, I found an aftermarket set that i can remove the backing and fab an easy sheet-metal backing plate. I need to try to incorporate the Grille into the design of the headlights somehow....

I'll update

Eage8 -

Good choice! When the wheels get back i may have to keep the R-S3's for later.

Im going to try ae86 rear coilovers with ae92 front. I also need an ae86 adjustable panhard bar to make sure i dont dogleg the rear axle. Im looking around for a rear strut bar as well. Its just a daily driver but i want some fun from it. The originals are out and making that "boggle" noise.

I just bought the E30 headlights yesterday so we'll see how this one is going to go.

6Camota,

No specific. I dont want to spend too much on something that has the possibility of not even working=)

I got my wheels back from the powder coater, the fit great! With the exception of the lug studs. They are now short because te meat from the offset of the wheels.
Tires showed up finally friday as did the e30 headlights. Ill post pics today.

Ive been delayed in my plans because i ran out of gas on thursday....
Well, it died with low gas... In reality the timing belt went.
I didnt know this at the time and spent 700ish thinking it was the fuel pump, then the starter went... Ugh...

you know on the wheel stud i remember reading that if you want longer ones, you can get some off a toyota 4runner or something... cant remember to well, but thats how lots of corolla guys like us are able to run good wheels and not cheapo's...

So about time i updated.....

I thought i ran out of gas last thursday and it ended up being the timing belt that broke.

So, here we are with the new arrivals.

Here are my E30 EURO "smiley" low beam projectors headlights.
I made sure to buy the glass ones, i like them for durability reasons.

I will try for install this weekend after work if the weather holds.

My new wheels are powder coated and lookin' GREAT!!!

The rubber arrived and will be a good fit.

My next venture will be installation of the JDM bumpers, Exhaust and suspension before diving into interior and Paint.

She at least progresses.....

This is a real great progression. I'm loving the updates and please keep them coming. I like your designs and hoping some of your modifications will inspire me with some ideas, as I am thinking of doing some heal lamp and tail lamp modifications. The car looks great :]
