AE92 .... Next Issue... Possible Short.

Ok, I finally got everything back together, new crank timing gear and key after the other one some how got wore. Now going to start it, it cranks over a few times. Now there seems to be a short. It manages to crank over but with all, guesses to that my car has been sitting for a while, it may take time to start. But now I have came across a problem I had before but went away.

When I turn the key to full ON, the ac fan is on as well as my turn signal indicators on the dash (theyre not even blinking, just SOLID ON). The defroster, battery and hi beam indicator are also lit as well but very dim. Also, the CMH relay is clicking to hell whatever that is.

At START, the turn signal and hi beam indicators brighten up while other various go off. Instead of the starter kicking in, the cooling fan starts blowing.

I tried using another battery, jumping, tapped the starter just incase, and retrack anything I disconnected, wiggled wires I came in contact with. No go.

This problem came up at one time before when I replaced my whole exhaust front to back. I didn't have to disconnect any wirings. Nothing worked. But then a few minutes later after frustrations, it went away.....

The ONLY wirings I came in contact to the day I did my exhaust and this timing repair is the wirings going to the alternator and over the top timing belt cover. So my guess is that if theres a short, its in the vicinity. Like said, I wiggled it, nothing.

And now its back.

I may try to replace the engine main relay. Maybe its dead stuck crap or something.

So I disconnected the wire to the distributor, problem persists. Disconnect the connector to the alternator, problem persists. So I know it's not any of those that could be the short.

I removed the CMH relay to see what happens. Besides no clicking, the turn signal inducators are at full bright when at START. But only the usual visible indicators are on when at ON.

Talk about trying to source the short...

UPDATE: I have checked the Starter. Not the problem... I cleaned the terminals and stuff for it.
