The 1991 Toyota Corolla service manual page EC-12 gives directions for cleaning the filter on the 4A-FE EGR Vacuum modulator. This is a component of the EGR system. It's on the firewall side of the intake manifold, just above the EGR valve. The directions show the top taken off the modulator and the filter taken out. I have a genuine Toyota Vacuum modulator, but I don't see anyway to take the top off of it? Has any forum member every taken one off? How is it done?
