? on the FX-16 suspension.

ok i know there is probably a lot of treads about this question, but im being lazy right now, i think Donald had something about this, but on the Corolla Fx GTS do the front shocks and rear shocks just bolt up to the ae92 sedans? i think im going to change out my struts because they are completely dead and my bumpy ride has also a very bad wave to it, sorry Donald but my corolla drives bumpier than your FX. but do all FX gts use rear cartridges only? because i installed a FX rear brake kit on mine, and i dont like the drilling of the holes in the back again... do the top hats have to be changed as well? or can i use my stock ae92 top hats? if anyone has a set of rear FX GTS tubes where i can just install some better struts in place of the stock for sale, id like to know how much? again im working on a budget so dont break me please... or if someone has stock FX shocks that is just sitting in their garage or shed that wants to sell them to me for cheap ill appreciate that as well... as usual everyone, thank you for your time and i look forward to your responses...

on the update, i dont really care for the front shocks, im just more interested in the rear strut casings or what ever they are called... sleeves? meh.... but yeah, i was checking out something earlier and it said that you can insert aw11 shocks into it? and im planning on running the GTS ae92 front shock casings or what ever again.... SOMEONE please tell me what they are called? i dont want to sound any more of a idiot now... =/ but yeah i hope you all got a picture of what im planning... i am going to drop some coil spring sleeves on them, and use some nice MR2 shocks... i wonder, does any1 know of camber plates? ir either a 88-9 or 93-02 top hat camber plate? i dont know if ill get one, but itll be nice to know.

i know this will not sound fun but if u read through donald's autocrossing thread there is a ton of info on suspension set ups there. those guys have some wild set ups. everything from camber plates strut housing mods for shorter inserts. i bounce in every once in a few, a lot of good info there. if anything u could always ask those guys for more info too

the rear fx struts does not bolt up to the ae92, i've tried. its a different angle and the holes are in different places. if your using it on the fx, you can try and find aw11 or somthing with bolt cap too and do the chop weld method so you can use inserts in the rears.

hrm... yeah im just curious about the suspension atm.. i want to eliminate the whole drilling holes in the rear struts everytime i change shocks out... i wonder if i can get the ae92 top hat in the rear on to the ae82 FX's rear shock... if that can work some way, then i might be able to make it work... idk, thats why im asking if anyone has done it or know of it?

the word you're looking for is strut housing

the problem with the rear FX shocks is the bottom mount where they bolt to the hub is different.

why are you set on using FX shocks? just because you can put an insert in them?

I'm currently using koni sport inserts in stock AE92 GT-S rear struts. You chop the stop off of the stock strut and take all the innerds out, then drill a whole in the bottom. then you just slide the koni insert in and put a bolt through the bottom hole.

my current rear struts:

as for camber plates, tein and cusco make front camber plates.

cusco makes rear camber plates, but you need to use ground controls with them.

the reason im using fx is because i accidentally went with the rear fx gts disc conversion instead of the ae92... so thats why im looking more into that then anything else... i just dont want to drill the holes anymore... if you look at my build thread page, you can see when pointing out that flaw with the ae82 and the ae92 differences... i took lots of pictures so no one.. i mean no one will ever make that mistake again =D
