oil light comes on while stopped

so i 89 sr5. the oil light only comes on while i'm stopped at a light or stop sign. if i put the car in neutral it turns off, and it turns off as soon as i start driving again. it only does it after i drive around for a while. anyone know if this is a pressure light? i checked my oil and it's fine so i'm not what is causing this.

you know what, i had this problem before with another car i had a while back, it was a 92 nissan 300zx turbo. the motor blew a little while after that oil light came on, but it only came on while stop when idling but went away soon after i started driving again. the reason for the 300zx (not saying this is for you) is that the oil pump was going bad, and soon later, it went out and didnt send anymore oil to the head and ultimately blew the engine. i dont know how to diagnosis this problem of yours though, but my guess is that it could be oil pump, but do not quote me on that because i had this problem with a different car. maybe someone here can give you a more definite answer to it though.

Have the oil pressure tested....

this could be a big problem.... Toyota allows for as little as 4-6 psi at idle.... which is EXTREMELY low... this is also when the dummy light will show up......

amount of oil has (as long as there's enough for the sump to pick up) nothing to do with oil pressure.
