1990 Prizm/Corolla "door ajar" light issue

Hello!

I have a base model 90 Prizm. The "door ajar" light stays on all of the time now. Had a mechanic buddy do some work on the car recently and said he checked all of the doors and back hatch. The kill switches seemed to be working fine. I know that sensor is grouped with the turn signal sensor, "key in ignition" sensor, etc. on the wiring plug above the driver's side kick panel fuse block. It has a purple/blue connector. I don't need the light to come on to tell me if the door is ajar, so I'd like to clip the wire. Anyone know what color wire it is?

If it's different in the actual Corolla versus the Prizm, please let me know and apologies for posting here.

Instead of cutting wires, remove instrument cluster and remove bulb.

Most likely the driver's door switch gone bad. Disconnect it.
Pull the door post trim panel, and pull the connector from the switch.

Hmm, the book just says it's a w/b wire, but that's pretty uyseless in these cars. Half the wires are w/b.

Any alignment shop should be able to get it straight for you. If it needs tie rod ends or ball joints, they will probably get them from NAPA or Autozone.
