USA Window Washer hose disconnected (91 corolla)

Hey guys, I have a 91 toyota corolla (well actually its a geo prizm but i heard they're basically the same car). So I started filling my window washer resevior up and noticed it was just dripping out. Apparently it's not connected.

Does it just connect through a hose? I found one hose not connected to anything, that was very close to the window washer tank but it was just a tad too far of a stretch. I'm almost certain it is the right hose though, because there is no other hose in the vicinity. The hose goes into the side of the car. Anyways, does anyone know whether or not this is the right hose? And if so, why does it not reach? Well, it does reach but i just have to stretch it so much, that the hose just recoils back.

Thanks, in advance!

Greg

Based on my 1990, on the side of the engine compartment near the bottle there is a round hole with plastic trim around it. The back of the washer bottle slightly obscures this hole. The washer hose comes through this hole into the engine compartment. It attaches to the pump that is on the washer bottle.

The pump is in place on your bottle, correct?

There's a 3" hose from the pump to a one-way valve, then the hose into the fender. You may be missing this little section and the valve.

Yes, a universal valve will work.

i have all the components to my washer fluid system, but it doesnt work... i have full fluids, the plug is in, and all the lines are there... but when i go into the car, the button my guessing is that its pushed all the way in, is it not suppose to come out? or do i have to replace it? i press that button as hard as i can, but nothing happens... maybe you guys can help me on this? i dont have any experience in this field...
