ae92 Shortened shocks

Apart from coilovers shortened shocks are the only other way to go lower but does anyone have any alternatives to this, like maybe other cars with shorter shocks than the ae92 that could be fitted??

Mk1 GTIs have very short inserts that I think are the same width... but you'd still have to get your stock front housings shortened.

I'm pretty sure that's what the koni race short dampers I'm running up front (2 inches shorter than stock) is based on.
