4A-FE engine block drain plug location.

1992 Corolla with a 1.6L 4 cylinder 4A-FE engine. Is there an engine block drain plug because I spend the whole afternoon and couldn't locate it. Thanks

Engine block drain plug? Do you mean the engine oil pan drain plug, to drain the oil?

I use the drain plug on the Rad. Bottom LH side.
Or remove the bottom hose.

Fastest is to drain the radiator first, then most of the coolant will be gone from the engine as well.

The drain from the rafiator is on the bottom tank of the radiator (left hand side iirc)
There should be a drain plug on the enginge block/thermostat housing as well but on all my 4A-GE engines these plastic white plugs broke off.

After the radiator has drained, you can just loosen the coolant hases from the engine & radiator.

blah blah blah, the thermostat will keep most of the water in the block. Theres a drain plug next to the oil filter.

Yeah, if the guy is specifically trying to ask where the block drain plug is, whats the point in telling him "oh gee theres a drain plug in the radiator"? I would assume he found that one already. Even then, draining from the radiator will leave quite alot of fluid inside the engine, because the thermostat housing is higher than the water inlet into the block on the pump side and water would have to travel from the pump side, back to the thermostat housing and then out, somehow magically going past the closed thermostat. Hence the need for the drain plug.

I see you've been here like forever and are probably considered a god around this place but......so we should all just keep our mouths shut if we're not positive about the exact thing the OP is trying to accomplish?

I was just offering a bit of advice. You preceding your post with blah blah blah is just a way to make yourself feel better I guess. That's a bit sad.

Sorry to go off topic but I just couldn't help saying it.

I think its sad that people lack reading comprehension, when the OP asks for the block drain plug and people start telling him about the radiator drain plug... Fail.

That might be a good idea. Why bother posting nonsense, when the actual thing he was asking isnt resolved.

Now what was it again what they say about assumptions?

Something like: "assumptions are the mother of all f*ck-ups"?
