USA Source for GOOD CV axles?

Hi all,

Searching the threads for CV replacement advice, I've seen more than a few posts from people saying they've needed to go back a number of times to get a decent axle, whether its the wrong part, cruddy build, or something else.

Where have you had success on try #1? What stores/products would you avoid on this item? I intend to do this exactly once.

Not that it matters, but this is for a 91 All-Trac wagon.

Thanks!

Most of the times the problems are installation error....lack of grease (grease put in wrong), dirt gone into the new joint, use of hammers and other incorrect tools, etc.

i would just go to o'reily, i know its a PITA if it breaks but nothing beats lifetime warrenty. as good as oem toyota ones are, they cost an arm and a leg. if your really picky you can get o'reily ones some new boots from toyota and add more grease to them.

otherwise i got some o'reily axles on my swap and its fine. the boots actually seem quite thick and not condom thin. than again i know ita a batch thing with these aftermarket suppliers.

btw make sure the guy your dealing with takes the time to actually look at the computer and show you the pics

I have used axles from Advance Auto Parts, Auto Zona and NAPA on several different Corollas and Camrys, with no problems or complaints.

I just wish some of old ones were not so dam hard to pull out of the gearbox.
