the official weights for the GT-S range from 2372 in '88 to 2399 in '91... but the carbed SR5s weighed 2242...

I've taken a decent amount of weight off mine between the 6 lb battery, CF hood, no back seat, no AC.... but have probably added a bit in there too with rear discs and the 4age... so I have no idea what it's at now.

just go get your car corner weighted and then you'll know

I guess it depends on what options the car has. A/C, P/S, power windows, etc. all ad a bit of weight.

My car was imported back in the day, and I believe they have to weigh the car to get all the paperwork right.
My '88 GT-S (without any options except power mirrors) only weighs in at 1041 kg's (That's 2295 lbs for you yanks).

My '92 AE92 Hatchback with 4A-FE only weighed 997 kg's (2198 lbs)

smaller struts, no front sway bar, no strut bar, rear drums, no spolier, no side skirts... the head is smaller, so it probably weighs a bit less.

it all adds up. plus they might not be counting stuff the SR5 had options for but weren't standard. like p/s and AC.

Well I have the '88 sedan DLX with the 4A-F auto and I actually weighted mine at a local recycler and the scale said 2,328lbs to be exact. Thats with the A/C compressor removed and back speakers removed lol. I'll re-weight it after I remove the p/s and remove the old intake assembly to replace it with that little intake filter thingy you can find at your local auto parts store lol. The coupes should weight under that with no porblem, but than again like eage8 said it all adds up if you count the sway bars, strut bar, spolier, side skirts, etc. Has anyone else offically weighted their 92s?
